We support young gifted musicians on their way to the concert stage.
We provide an audience for their projects - whether solo or ensemble.

The concept of the foundation
There are a great number of gifted and creative young musicians who are dying to showcase their abilities and projects. This is exactly where the foundation steps in: our concert series gives them the opportunity to play to an interested and engaged audience.
Our musicians come from all over the world. The majority of them study at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel or at other Swiss music colleges. They perform for us either solo or with ensembles. We keep in close contact with our musicians and are intensely involved in the composition of their programmes.
Klezmer Time, Spalen-Nacht, 16.05.2029 Trio Spalenvorstadt 25. Basel
Every two weeks we host the S25 lunchtime concert in the foundation’s room, at Spalenvorstadt 25, near Universität Basel and the Hochschule für Musik. The half-hour concerts offer young soloists and small ensembles the opportunity of a concert, and a stimulating lunch break for those in attendance. Our audience can enjoy an intimate atmosphere and a variety of music - early music, classical (with a focus on contemporary classical) or jazz - and get to get to know our musicians afterwards over a drink.
We have also taken part in “ZeitRäume Basel” and “KlangBasel” on an alternating yearly basis with our own series of concerts, since 2014. This provides another excellent opportunity for our young ensembles to perform to a broad audience!
Autumn beckons and with it “ZeitRäume Basel” the biennale for new music and architecture. We will be taking part with our own series of concerts for the third time and putting on our own “Heimspiel” at our new rooms at Spalenvorstadt 25.
Expect surprising and scintillating short programmes, each made up of two parts performed by two ensembles or soloists. These pairings promising to be as exhilarating for the performers as they are for the audience.
For the particularly curious or novices we’ve created so-called “Drop-ins” on Saturday 21 September from 11am till 2pm. Pop your head in the door, have a nosy around and allow yourself to be beguiled by a choir concert or five short performances, one after the other.
